OUR PROGRAM
PLAYTIME/LEARNING/FUN

In todays day and age with technology taking over, there has been a bigger movement towards more education and skill training in early childhood programs. However, studies are coming to find that children are engaging less and less in playtime impairing their physical, mental and social development. Children need plenty of time to play and explore their world, this is a huge key element to their learning and understanding of the world. Children develop emotionally, cognitively, socially and physically through play. Here at Little Monkeys, I provide a balance of both structured play and free play. When children are engaged and having fun, they are open to new ideas and thoughts. They learn how to problem solve, negotiate, take turns, play with others, and develop gross and fine motor skills. During structured play there is primarily one activity or group of toys for the child to focus and concentrate all of their attention on. Activities are age appropriate and scheduled with flexibility to allow for individual response. The following activities that the children and I engage in, include, but are not limited to the following.
Indoor Activities:
Circle time, play food and cooking, books and story time, play dough, puppet shows, dolls, various learning toys, cars/trucks, blocks, puzzles, Simon-says, dancing, balls, various games, sing along books, musical instruments/music time, flash cards, painting, singing, exercise/tumbling, follow the leader, arts and crafts, bean bag toss, legos, science/science experiments and coloring.
Outdoor Activities:
